I love crockpot meals, and Crockpot Macaroni and Cheese ranks high on the favorites in this household! Macaroni and Cheese is a staple in most households, whether we love the idea of that or not.
You will need:
1lb noodles (fun shapes are fun!)
2.5 cups shredded cheddar (shred your own cheese, already shredded cheese makes for gritty mac n cheese!)
1 cup milk
3/4 cup sour cream
1 can cheddar cheese soup
1 tsp ground mustard
4 Tbls butter
salt and pepper to taste
Start your water to boil and let the noodles boil while you prepare the sauce. Boil your noodles until al dente, they will get extra cooking time in the crockpot.
Shred your cheese so it melts in the crockpot quicker, and like I said before, go the extra step and shred your own. The bagged shredded cheese contains an anti-clumping agent that causes the end result to not be as creamy as it should. You can even mix up your cheeses and make this your own! I’ve done Monterey Jack and Cheddar, and it is delicious.
Add all ingredients except for the noodles into the crockpot on high. I like to start it on high to get it going and get things melting quicker. Combine ingredients well and let everything melt and get creamy.
Add the cooked noodles, combine and let it cook together in the crockpot on low for 2 hours.
Enjoy! I updated this post with a newer picture. It’s delicious!
