Dusty Crophopper is a favorite Disney Planes character at our house. He is often seen flying around from room to room performing all sorts of amazing tricks. While the boys have many Dusty toys I thought it would be fun to make one ourselves. Recently we switched brands of toilet paper and the roll is white! This seemed to me like it would be the perfect body for our friend Dusty.
We painted orange and blue stripes on his sides and added an orange tail wing with blue painted tips
I was feeling pretty good about it until the boys brought up the fact that our friend Dusty needed a face. Hmm, yes, he did. So, we made a circle of orange construction paper. Next came wings. Of course, we couldn’t leave off his number so we made a circle of construction paper for lucky number 7!
Dusty needed his windshield/eyes so he could see. For this we rolled a piece of orange construction paper and glued it to the body of the plane. Then cut out our windshield and painted on eyes.
We cut another toilet paper roll in half and stuffed it in sideways to make a nosecone to attach the propeller to help him fly!
Our Dusty Crophopper paper roll craft was so much fun and easy to make! We are planning to make some more planes soon!
