With Christmas fast approaching we have been doing a tremendous amount of baking at my house recently, making cookies and candy to give away to our loved ones. Today, Susie and I thought it would be fun to make some Applesauce and Cinnamon ornaments to put on the tree and share with our friends.
Materials:
3/4 cup of applesauce
3 oz of cinnamon
Cookie sheet
Cookie cutters
Ribbon
Wax paper (We originally tried it with parchment paper, but found that wax works better.)
Mixing bowl
Spatula
Rolling pin
The first thing we did was preheat the oven to 200 degrees. The ornaments need to bake for 2 1/2 hours so plan for that. The next step is to measure and pour the ingredients into the bowl.
Next place the ball of dough on wax paper proceed to roll and cut out shapes.
Once all your ornaments are cut out, place on a cookie sheet and bake at 200 degrees for 2 1/2 hours.
Once the ornaments have baked and cooled, string them with ribbon and hang from your Christmas tree to enjoy.
Applesauce Ornaments are a tradition at our home. Susie loves making them, and I love that the whole house smells of cinnamon while they bake.
