When you are shopping do you look local or go straight to Amazon? I have to admit that there are times I jump straight to the big guys but I have been trying to stay local and support local mompreneurs as much as I can. Handmade gifts are so special. I recently had some things made for my daughter’s birthday as well as Halloween. It is fun to be able to speak with the person creating the special piece you want for your family and it is nice to support other Moms!
Jackie at J. Furlong Photography was recently inspired to do a photo shoot featuring items handmade by local Louisville Moms. She tells me that she thought of it because she was just so impressed with this group of women who, on top of being mothers and some of them even working outside of the home, how they can put together these amazing products.
Jackie was joined by photographer, Ilyin Mapp of Ilyin Mapp Photography and the results of their Campfire Boy shoot are just adorable!
I love the nap mats by Handmade Nest
Angela Hong Smith made the tent and quilt. How talented is she?!
Are you drooling over these cupcakes like I am? They are Salted Caramel Apple Pie and S’mores and were made by The Classy Cakery. They sound like perfect flavors for Campfire Boys!
Do you look local for special items? With Christmas fast approaching I am planning to order some handmade gifts from the talented ladies of The Handmade Mamas of Louisville. You should too!
