My husband and I like to make memories with our kids and are always looking for new ideas for family fun. Main Event recently opened in our city and, after some research, we thought it would be fun to take the kids to.
The kids were excited to read Eat, Bowl, Play on the building as we headed inside for dinner. They boast a casual dining restaurant with a wide menu as well as a full bar! The kids ordered meals they liked and my husband and I shared an Italian Pesto pizza that was so good. He and I also indulged in a cocktail with our meal.
After dinner, we let the kids take the lead and quickly found ourselves at the Laser Tag area. The boys and Daddy booked a game, they start every 15 minutes, and since they arrived right as one started they had a little time to wait. It didn’t phase them at all as they headed towards the video games to find one to play during the wait. The video game area is full of the newest stuff as well as some classics. The area was brightly lit and everything seemed to be very clean.
We had the baby with us so I did not get to play Laser Tag but my boys played twice and declared it to be “the best fun ever”. We wanted to do something we could all participate in so we decided to bowl a game. I have to admit that I had never bowled before and was not very sure I would enjoy it. Lanes are rented by the hour and shoes are available to rent as well. We rented our lane, got our shoes changed, picked out bowling balls and got started. The bowling lanes are state-of-the-art and as I entered each of our names on the scoreboard I was able to choose whether each player wanted to use bumpers or no bumpers. The boys and I opted for bumpers while my husband did not.
Y’all, bowling is FUN! I had no idea! I was pretty bad at it but we all had a great time. Even the baby enjoyed watching us and clapping along when we were excited. I loved how much we interacted while playing while cheering and encouraging one another. We will definitely be bowling again soon! After bowling Daddy and the boys played a few games of shuffle board. This was a game the kids had not tried before and they both enjoyed it.
Main Event is definitely a great place for family fun! My family has already asked to return and we will soon.
