Peanut Butter Banana Honey Waffled Sandwich

My son gets a lot of allergy induce asthma flare ups.  He is currently on Singulair which has helped a lot with this and his Eczema.  However, when he gets a flareup it’s pretty nasty and we have to give him daily breathing treatments.  We have since incorporated locally produced honey into his daily diet to try natural immunotherapy.  I honestly don’t know if it will really help (I’m such a cynic with these things!), but it’s yummy and healthier than jelly!  He really enjoys it, but we are trying to add it to other foods he likes in fun ways.

One way is this Peanut Butter Banana Honey Waffled Sandwich.  It’s not actually a waffle, but a sandwich grilled in a waffle press!  Fun!

You will need:

Your favorite bread
Peanut Butter
Sliced bananas
Local honey

Spread peanut butter on the bread and add the sliced bananas in a single layer.  Drizzle a liberal amount of honey over the bananas.  You can find local honey at farmer’s markets, local groceries, and health food markets.

Close the sandwich and place it on a preheated and non stick sprayed waffle iron or even a panini press, however I think the waffle iron makes for a fun kid shape!
