My son gets a lot of allergy induce asthma flare ups. He is currently on Singulair which has helped a lot with this and his Eczema. However, when he gets a flareup it’s pretty nasty and we have to give him daily breathing treatments. We have since incorporated locally produced honey into his daily diet to try natural immunotherapy. I honestly don’t know if it will really help (I’m such a cynic with these things!), but it’s yummy and healthier than jelly! He really enjoys it, but we are trying to add it to other foods he likes in fun ways.
One way is this Peanut Butter Banana Honey Waffled Sandwich. It’s not actually a waffle, but a sandwich grilled in a waffle press! Fun!
You will need:
Your favorite bread
Peanut Butter
Sliced bananas
Local honey
Spread peanut butter on the bread and add the sliced bananas in a single layer. Drizzle a liberal amount of honey over the bananas. You can find local honey at farmer’s markets, local groceries, and health food markets.
Close the sandwich and place it on a preheated and non stick sprayed waffle iron or even a panini press, however I think the waffle iron makes for a fun kid shape!

Oh my goodness, my youngest is always wanting waffles, and this is perfect! Plus, it looks pretty yummy. We may just have to try this.
My husband would be all over this. He loves Elvis’s PB, Banana, and Bacon sandwich.
You could totally add bacon to this. I thought about it!
YUM! So simple and delicious!
Not a fan of bananas unless in my cereal but my son would love this.
This is such a great idea. It’d definitely be a way to get them to eat their bananas. Thanks for sharing.
My grandma would have LOVED this!
Oh my goodness. This looks and sounds heavenly
Looks delicious!! I would add some cinnamon too.
What a delicious looking breakfast or snack! It looks yummy.
That sounds so good- the waffles make it so fun! My son would love this {and so would I}!
That is delight for kids right there. I’ll have to try it for sure. Mmmmm.
Oooh, I love PB and banana sandwiches and this just kicked it up a notch!
This might be the best idea I have seen all day. It looks delicious!
What a really creative idea! I love that you put them in the middle. I have wafflemaker but its in storage. I have to dig it out!
And the waffle lines make it easy to cut in halves and quarters!
This looks really yummy and creative. I’ve never thought to heat a peanutbutter and banana sandwich, I’ve always just had them at room temp.
