My little guys started back to homeschool this week! I know it seems late, but we school year-round, so we took our break in July and August. Anyway, we have been doing a calendar for about a year, and every month, our “theme” changes. We’ve done pumpkins and cornucopias, different colors of paper, and starfish/crabs, among others. This allows them to practice making, recognizing, and extending patterns, an early math skill that will help them down the road. This month, my older kiddo wanted pirates and treasure maps. I couldn’t find any locally, so I made some. I’m happy to share our results for you to use in your home or school!
As you can see, our calendar pieces printed out in black and white, because we don’t have a color printer, but the file is in color. Also, I was in a hurry and used regular copy paper instead of cardstock, but if I wasn’t, I would print on cardstock (in color!) and put them through a laminator, for added durability and re-usability. Enjoy!
