Summer Essentials of a Baseball Mom

Baseball is in my blood. I grew up watching it with my Daddy and now my boys play baseball. This year they are on a team together which makes the competition for them even more intense. Our oldest son is a pitcher and younger son plays catcher and shortstop. I have to admit that I am an avid fan and really get into each practice and game.

My boys have been playing for 6 years so I feel like I am a pretty experienced baseball mom at this point and know exactly what Summer Essentials I need to make myself a sideline hero.

Every sideline hero needs a great bag to carry essentials. My bag is baseball themed!
The Summer sun can be rough so I make sure to always have sunscreen.
Lip balm for those dry lips caused by sitting on the sidelines for hours.
An elastic bandage just in case of injury.
An instant cold pack for aching muscles or injury.
Refreshing drinks for us sideline heroes! I always pack POWERADE® for my husband and myself as well as extra to share with our fellow baseball parents.
Easily portable snacks. NABISCO multi packs make life easy. We especially enjoy Ritz Bits crackers as a sideline snack.
Rain ponchos are great to carry along just in case!
An old towel comes in handy for cleaning off wet bleacher seats or staunching bloody noses caused by errant balls.
Sunglasses to help hide my emotions while watching the game.

I like to shop at Walmart for all my sideline hero essentials. Let’s face it, kids sports can be an expensive endeavor for families so it is important to save, snack, score whenever possible. Walmart helps me be able to do just that.

Save – I save money by looking for rollbacks and specially marked packages at my local Walmart store.

Snack – I stay fueled while cheering on our team

Score – I am the sideline HERO at the game by sharing our snacks and drinks with other parents at the game!
