Teacher Appreciation Week is fast approaching! It is always the first full week in May with Teacher Appreciation Day being Tuesday of that week. This year that is May 7th – May 11th.
I try to send in small things all week and then something a little larger and more personalized on Friday. These are some of the fun things we have done for our teachers. They have received a candy bar, a pack of gum, a popcorn box, a flower pot and a poem with a Target gift card. Yes, I know that it all sounds lame but I promise I am going to make each of them cute! Wanna see?
Start with a Milky Way or Mars bar and add a cute tag with “You are out of this world”.

Let your teacher know they are ‘Extra’ special with some gum and a cute tag attached

Tell the teacher what a Star they are with a Movie gift. I am do Popcorn boxes from the Target Dollar Spot. I add some movie candy and microwave popcorn to those along with a small Red Box gift card. You could leave out the microwave popcorn and include a gift card to your local movie theater instead if you prefer!

I found a cute Flower Pot at Deals (LOVE that store) for $1 and added gardening gloves to it along with a pad of paper shaped like a flower and a packet of seeds. The seeds I chose for one of our teachers were Johnny Jump Ups. She happens to be the teacher for Johnathan who didn’t always stay in his seat. I added a fertilizer stick and attached our printable tag to it.

I love this poem and personalize it with our names to send to our teachers. I include a Target Gift Card in the envelope with this gift. They can use it to buy something for themselves or something for the classroom. Locally our teachers are given very little funding to purchase classroom supplies .

Remember that your child’s teacher influences their lives daily. They can help to instill a love of learning that will help your child succeed in school. Whether you choose one of our ideas or an idea of your own it is nice to find a way to say ‘Thank You’ to someone who has plays such a large role in the life of your child.
