When I talked to my Sister in Law about making this Watermelon Lemonade, she said she would bring me her juicer. I thought she meant one of those things that mashes the inside of the fruit. Nope. She meant this kinda scary beast of a machine that rips into fruits and veggies and squeezes every drop out. I bought 2 watermelons to get enough juice from them for this, but with this juicer I only needed 3/4 of one! of course you don’t HAVE to have a mean juicing machine to make this, but it is super cool and now I want one to start making my own crazy juices!
This watermelon lemonade is SO refreshing and delicious that I also made ice pops with it!
You will need:
2 1/2 cups lemon juice
5 cups watermelon juice
2 cups sugar
12 cups water
2 tsp salt (to cut the bitterness of lemon)
I love this juicer my SIL let me borrow for this recipe. It was super easy to use and clean afterwards!
Combine water, sugar and salt in a pan and heat until sugar is dissolved well.
Juice lemons and watermelon. If you don’t have a juicer you can blend or crush the watermelon to get as much juice as possible from the fruit.
In a large container or dispenser, add all ingredients together. Add lots of ice and a few lemon and watermelon slices! Enjoy!
As I said before, I also used some of the lemonade to make ice pops! They were delicious!
